September 11 Memorial Preview Site Visit and Discussion - New York, NY

The National September 11 Memorial will honor the men, women and children who died in the September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993 attacks on the World Trade Center. RICS members, friends and colleagues have the unique opportunity to see a presentation on the design and construction of the Memorial. Those who attend this event will have an opportunity to sign up for a site tour.

The Memorial will contain two, one-acre pools positioned within the footprints of the Twin Towers, each with vast waterfalls cascading down its sides.

The Memorial was designed to contain one of the most sustainable plazas ever built, with irrigation systems in place to support the 400 trees, and the project hopes to attain the Gold LEED certification for New Construction (LEED-NC). More details and progress will be shared on August 12th in this special RICS event.
