| RICS Northern California Brown Bag Lunch California's High Speed Rail System and Downtown Extension of Caltrain Join us for a brown bag lunch session with Gabriel Metcalf, SPUR's Executive Director, as he updates us on progress toward building a High Speed Rail system for California and bringing it to a new, multimodal transit station south of Market. The extension of High Speed Rail (and with it, Caltrain) to downtown San Francisco is the Bay Area's single most important transit project. SPUR and other advocates have made huge strides in the past few years toward finding the funding for the project. High-speed rail will enable commuters to walk from their downtown offices and get to San Jose by train in 30 minutes - or to Los Angeles in just two and a half hours! Date: Wednesday, March 24, 2010 Time: 11:45 am - 1:00 pm Location: CB Richard Ellis 101 California Street, 44th Floor San Francisco, CA 94111 Nearest Bart station is Embarcadero Cost: $10 for RICS members as well as members of CRE, AI, AACEI and CCIM. $15 for non-members. Cost includes sandwich, cookie/chips and drink. Click here to register. Guest speaker: Gabriel Metcalf from SPUR: http://www.spur.org/about/staff/gabrielmetcalf%20.
