The official OREA* Approved 7-hour USPAP update course is designed for appraisers of all disciplines who have previously passed the 2-day course and need or wish to stay current every 2 years. (OREA #06275C200)

You will learn:
  • The changes to USPAP since 2009
  • How to apply USPAP concepts to your own appraisal practice
  • How to avoid common appraisal pitfalls

The official 2-day USPAP course is designed for appraisers of all disciplines and must be taken at least once. Appraisers preferring to re-certify every 5 years must take the 2-day course. You will gain comprehensive knowledge of USPAP. (The 2-day course is not registered with OREA.)

Who should attend?

Appraisers, realtors, loan officers, attorneys, bankers, CPAs; anyone involved in the appraising profession, regardless of area of work.

About the Instructor

Roger Durkin, J.D., M.S., ASA is a dynamic, highly entertaining teacher with a 98% pass rate for the USPAP course. He holds designations in 5 appraisal disciplines. His educational background includes a Juris Doctorate and a Master’s degree in valuation. Roger operates Durkin Valuation Consultants at Lewis Wharf in Boston. His appraisal practice covers the valuation of a wide range of property for clients including attorneys, the FBI, USSS, U.S. Customs, IRS, Postal Inspection Service, and the Federal Marshal Service. Roger also operates Durkin Law, PC with two other attorneys, a practice dealing mostly with appraisal issues.

He has published four text books: Narrative Appraisal Report Writing, Marketing Appraisal Services, Personal Property Theory and Practice, and The Appraiser as Expert Witness. At present Roger is finishing work on his fifth book, “Appraisal Report Review—How to Conduct a Professional Appraisal Review of Real Property, Business Valuation or Personal Property.”
