ASFMRA 2011 Spring Ag Outlook Conference, Ag Tour & IRS Seminar

The California Chapter, ASFMRA brings its 2011 Spring Ag Outlook Conference – Keeping California Agriculture Green – to the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento March 23 – 25.

A full day Ag Facilities Tour on Wednesday, March 23 includes visits to Montna Farms, Sunsweet Growers and California Olive Ranch in the northern Sacramento Valley. Attendees with have the opportunity to learn about solar energy at one location, the challenges of operating a processing facility within the city limits at another, and then see first-hand how super high density olive production is impacting the state’s olive oil industry.

On Thursday, March 24, the annual Spring Ag Outlook Conference will offer sessions ranging from climate change, water transfers and almonds, to beef cattle, citrus and land values. Industry experts will speak throughout the day on key topics affecting California and Nevada agriculture, and the Trends in Agricultural Land & Lease Values publication for 2011 will be released. On Friday, March 25, a new seminar – Estate Planning, Gift Giving & the IRS – will be offered, providing information on the important and often volatile topic of estate and gift planning.
