The RICS Midwest Chapter and ASPE Chicago Chapter present:

BIM Applications for Cost Estimation

BIM is only a platform. The applications are what provide value to design & construction professionals. For estimators, BIM can provide more than material quantity takeoffs and unit price calculations. By modeling the exceptions, i.e. conditions and constraints, the estimator can improve BIM-based workflow and accuracy. In this presentation, Mr. Karl Heitman will share examples of BIM project applications for preconstruction, as well as insight into integrated model delivery.

Speaker: Karl Heitman, AIA, LEED AP, is Founder and President of Heitman Architects. Based in Itasca, Illinois, Heitman specializes in office, commercial and industrial developments, as well as BIM services including 3D laser scan conversion. For the past 6 years, Heitman has implemented BIM and 3D laser scanning on projects and successfully leveraged data across the building value chain. Karl has been practicing architecture for 31 years and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Houston.
