British Columbia Chapter Networking Event - Vancouver, CANADA

At this event you will meet Matthew Bruck - Managing Director RICS Americas and have a chance to meet and network with your fellow members. Cost will be $25 per ticket inclusive of a drink and appetizers. Payments can be made via credit card or cheques payable to RICS Americas (please see registration form attached). Dress code will be business casual.

As a group we believe it is of critical importance to understand and listen to you - the members. We will be issuing a Questionnaire shortly to allow us to get feedback on what the BC members want to see happen to make this a strong, diverse, interactive Chapter. We are working on getting a list of members in the BC Chapter published to facilitate better networking within the Chapter.

As our Chapter membership grows, so does its need for a more diverse and expansive core of active leaders. It has therefore been decided to reorganize the chapter operation and management so that members have a more formative role in planning and developing activities and events. Greater member leadership and participation will ensure:

• Chapter events are better suited to the needs of the local membership
  
• Opportunities are offered for members to shape and influence the direction of the RICS locally
  
• The foundation for a sustained Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program is created
  
• Valuable opportunities for networking and social activities are provided.
  

Chapters like this run on volunteer’s time. As an RICS member in the British Columbia area, you will be invited on an optional basis to provide input / participate and/or chair committees relating to:

• Membership
• Events
• CPD
• Social/Networking
• Sponsorship
• Liaison with UBC

Volunteer roles, with an initial term of 1-3 years, are designed to be manageable for busy professionals. The committees will have the full support of RICS staff in New York, as well as the Chapter Board. Brief descriptions of the roles will be provided to any interested members. These leadership roles are good opportunities to further your career and public profile.
