IFMA 17 - International Farm Management Congress, Bloomington, IL

The 17th IFMA Congress organizers – the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ISPFMRA – a chapter of the ASFMRA) – are planning a fully traditional IFMA Congress with all the usual trimmings plus a few extras. A warm welcome awaits all who attend.

This event is being held during a historical time for agriculture. After a virtual worldwide decline in both public and government interest agriculture has suddenly become important again; with food and fuel shortages and price rises taking central stage in policy considerations. Agricultural production is seen, at least in part, as the solution to these problems – but not without controversy, particularly in relation to biofuel production, but also in relation to genetic modification. Good “farm management” - including a good understanding of the issues - has never been more important.
