Wine Market and Vineyard Valuation Overview, Vineyard Tour, and Wine Tasting Social
Please join the Northern California Chapter of RICS Americas for a morning of wine market and vineyard valuation education, winery and vineyard tours, wine tasting and lunch at the distinguished Chimney Rock Winery in the Napa Valley. We will begin the morning by hearing from vineyard valuation expert Tony Correia, MRICS, ARA and premium wine industry expert Rob McMillan as to the state of the industry and an overview of current issues in vineyard valuation. Following the presentation, the Assistant Winemaker at Chimney Rock, Jeff van de Pol, will personally guide us on a private vineyard and winery tour as well as taste us through some of the wines produced at this winery. Lunch will be provided after the wine tasting. The event promises an exceptional overview of winery and vineyard issues by our own top experts and rare participation by a practicing winemaker in this extraordinarily beautiful, world-renowned winemaking region. It also offers a wonderful networking and social opportunity. The presentations, vineyard tour and wine tasting will focus on site specific vineyard management and winemaking practices and the effect they have on the wines. Access to this caliber of industry professionals in the industry is difficult to come by at any price. This is a must-attend event for wine enthusiasts! |

and lunch will occur in temperature controlled environments (low 60’s). The vineyard tour will involve a short to moderate walk at a leisurely pace. Attendees should bring layers of clothing for their comfort, including shoes and clothing appropriate for walking and standing during the tour and a jacket/sweater. |

| About the speakers: Tony Correia MRICS ARA, Founder of Correia-Xavier, Inc., Sonoma, CA Mr. Correia is widely recognized as a leading authority on the valuation of vineyards and wineries. He is an instructor of valuation courses and seminars throughout the nation and Mexico and is also a frequent public speaker on agricultural, appraisal, taxation, estate planning issues, water rights, and the vineyard and wine industries. Mr. Correia also holds the professional designation of Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Rob McMillan, founder of Silicon Valley Bank's Wine Division, Saint Helena, CA Starting in 1992, Mr. McMillan developed the division from the idea and start-up phase to the point where it's now regarded by many as the leading provider of financial services to the fine wine business on the West Coast. Mr. McMillan has published reports of varied and emerging trends to the wine industry over the past decade and is author of the Bank's well regarded Annual State of the Wine Industry Report. His perspectives regarding the direction, opportunities and threats in the Fine Wine business continue to be cited in regional, National and the wine trade press. |
