| NEW YORK – October 7, 2009 – RICS Americas is pleased to announce the upgrade of 16 qualified Members (MRICS) to RICS Fellowship (FRICS) status since May 2009. Most MRICS are eligible to apply for Fellowship as soon as they are elected. What does it mean to be an RICS Fellow? The letters FRICS represent a prestigious RICS award that reflects the career achievements of a special group of property professionals. Typically, Fellows are leaders in their field who have completed unique projects and contributed to the profession. Within the last year, more than sixty members have successfully applied for and received this prestigious designation, including Paul Abernathy FRICS, Senior Associate at Davis Langdon. “I applied for upgrade to Fellowship (FRICS) last year and was extremely satisfied with the process,” Abernathy said. “It goes without saying that this upgrade has offered me an invaluable lift in my acceptance by the business field within which I work, in the United States and abroad.” Detailed guidance, a candidate check list, and the application form are online at the RICS Americas web page: http://www.ricsamericas.org/fellowship The next deadline for members (MRICS) to apply for RICS Fellowship (FRICS) is Monday November 2, 2009. MRICS who submit their complete applications for the November deadline will receive the result by January 29, 2010.
