Prof. Jacob Opadeyi Receives Fellow Designation from RICS

| Worldwide Organization of Property Professionals Acknowledges Achievement, Contribution to the Field St. Augustine, Trinidad – July 13, 2010 – The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Americas has announced the promotion of Jacob Opadeyi to a Fellow of the organization. As a FRICS, Prof Opadeyi has demonstrated significant career achievement in his field, showing leadership and a commitment to the RICS code in all his work. Prof Opadeyi is the Head, Department of Geomatics Engineering and Land Management at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad. He has more than 30 years in the field of Geomatics, Geoinformatics and Land Management, and has worked on benchmarking tools for disaster risk reduction as well as postal code systems. The designation of Fellowship is a badge of achievement in RICS and the professionals who carry it are expected to show the highest level of accomplishment throughout their careers. RICS stipulates that all its Members (MRICS) and Fellows (FRICS) adhere to a strict code of ethics and conduct in their work in the property and valuation fields. While members at all levels follow this code, the letters FRICS represent a prestigious RICS award that reflects the career achievements of a special group of property professionals. Typically, Fellows are leaders in their field who have completed unique projects and contributed to the profession.
