NEW YORK – September 15, 2010 – RICS Americas, the New York-based regional branch of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the largest global organization for professionals in real estate, construction, valuation and related industries, is pleased to announce the appointment of 11 members to the RICS Americas Board.
“The new Board members will provide RICS with strategic counsel on business planning for the Americas region and support corporate strategy of the RICS worldwide organization. We are happy to welcome the accomplished new leaders who offer market intelligence from their region, insight on local market conditions and guidance on professional and ethical standards which drive RICS’ key roles,” stated Matthew Bruck, RICS Americas Managing Director.
The appointed Board members are:
Julian Anderson FRICS, CCC, FAIQS, President North America, Rider Levett Bucknall, Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. Anderson has extensive experience in areas related to construction cost and claims for damages as well as testimony in deposition, arbitration and in court. For 15 years, he has been a North American Representative for the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors and he formerly served on the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACEi) Certification Board.
Tim Gifford MRICS, Area Director - Capital Markets, Aguirre Newman America, Miami, Florida. Mr. Gifford oversees the Capital Markets division in the Americas. He was formally Director of Capital Markets – Latin America & the Caribbean at CB Richard Ellis.
Brian A. Glanville FRICS, CRE, MAI, Managing Director, Integra Realty Resources, Portland, Oregon. Mr. Glanville leads the Real Property Board of RICS’ Valuation Council and is a past National President and Board member with the Appraisal Institute. He has also served on the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) on the Standards Board, Management Board and Professional Board.
Tony Grant FRICS, President of Sutton Park Estates Corporation, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Mr. Grant has worked in the real estate profession in Europe and the USA for over 45 years in areas covering investment, development, leasing, appraisal and consultancy. He is a past RICS Americas Chair and a lifetime Honorary President of FIABCI (The International Real Estate Federation, based in Paris).
Sandra G. Guilfoil FRICS, CMI, Director, Ryan Inc., Seattle, Washington. Ms. Guilfoil has worked in commercial real estate appraisal for 26 years, including as Assistant Director for the Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR) Property Tax Division and National Property Tax Manager for Weyerhaeuser. She has also held several Board positions with The Appraisal Foundation.
John Hughes FRICS, Partner, Hemson Consulting Ltd., Toronto, Canada. Mr. Hughes has 40 years of broad consulting experience. The assignments he undertakes include valuations, market and feasibility studies, and economic development plans. He has particular expertise in the fields of municipal finance and property taxation. Mr. Hughes is Chair of RICS Canada.
Douglas W. Johannson MRICS, Vice President, Avison Young (Canada) Inc. Mr. Johannson specializes in warehouse and industrial park development and associated real estate transactions and has held senior commercial real estate roles in locations, including Toronto, Canada and Moscow, Russia. He currently serves on the RICS International Membership Committee.
Thomas M. Justin FRICS, CRE, Executive Vice President and Principal, The Weitzman Group, Inc., New York, New York. Mr. Justin has extensive expertise in real estate market analysis, development planning, investment analysis, appraisal and real estate economics. He is the RICS Americas Chair & Governing Council Representative and also a member of the Counselors of Real Estate association.
Clive R.P. Lowe FRICS, BSc, Macquarie Aviation North America, Arlington, Virginia. Mr. Lowe is an aviation executive and real estate professional with more than 25 years experience in real estate development, strategic planning, and operations with specific focus on the airport sector. He is Chair of RICS USA and the RICS Mid-Atlantic/Washington DC Chapter and is a member of the RICS Americas Markets Council.
David B. Neale PhD. FRICS, Director, CANE Associates Company Ltd., St. James, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Dr. Neale has more than 25 years of experience in the collection and analysis of marine data in Trinidad and Tobago and the broader Caribbean Region. He is Chair of RICS Caribbean.
John Pierce FRICS, Regional Manager, Latin America and the Caribbean, Turner Construction Company, New York, New York. With 29 years professional experience, Mr. Pierce utilizes his background in construction to serve clients in corporate real estate, private property development and the public sector. |
